The Founder - Joy Jacobson

Joy Jacobson graduated magna cum laude from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa her junior year.  In high school, she was the salutatorian of her class of 300 students.  After studying for her own standardized test, she received a perfect score on the math and quantitative section of the GRE.  She understands what it means to “master” a standardized test and loves helping students develop their own sense of mastery as well as gain confidence in their unique strengths.

Since graduation, Joy has conducted leadership seminars in the United States, Europe and Africa and has taught workshops for the Overseas Development Network and the Youth for Development and Cooperation organization in Holland.  For two consecutive years, she organized a cross-country bicycle ride to raise money for community service projects in the United States and then spent a year in India visiting and working with grassroots organizations focused on poverty and the environment.  She also received her MFA from the California Institute of the Arts, where she was an assistant teacher for undergraduate classes.

Teaching is a natural extension of her desire to help others, and since 2002, Joy has been successfully helping students with the college application process, writing skills, standardized test preparation and general academics.
